• Inpatient: Includes general routine care and ICUs
• Outpatient: Includes clinics and emergency rooms
• Ancillary: Costs supporting direct patient care, such as laboratory and medical supplies charged to patients
• Overhead: Costs not directly associated with patient care, such as housekeeping and administrative costs
